The Logistics Development Award has long been Australia’s major logistics industry award and is offered annually by the Logistics Association of Australia. The award is sponsored by CHEP Asia-Pacific.

The 2010 LDA major prize winner will venture on a US Best Practice Tour incorporating the Annual Conference of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the largest logistics industry conference on the international calendar, as well as various logistics and supply chain sites and tours.

The 2010 Conference will be held in San Diego, California, USA from 26-29 September, 2010. The award includes return airfares, conference registration, accommodation, all expenses related to attendance at the Conference and site visits of the winner’s choice before or after the Conference.

Two runners-up will each receive prizes to the value of $1500 to be applied towards the cost of attending a supply chain conference within the Pacific Rim. In addition, there will be three book prizes of $200 each.

Applicants for the LDA are required to submit a paper of approximately 1500 words on either:

• In light of predicted increasing fuel prices describe how this might impact supply chains across Australia, and what initiatives the industry and individual companies could put in place to minimize risks, OR
• Describe a “game changing” supply chain initiative that you have played a major role in for your company. Describe the value this delivered. The issues you faced and how learning might be applied by others outside of your organisation.

Applications close June 30 2010.

LAA Ltd thanks CHEP Asia-Pacific for once again sponsoring this major industry Award.
